With all due respect, I would not recommend living in these apartments. Unfortunately, our experience here was very disappointing and felt like a waste of both time and money. There is a clear roach problem that management does not seem to be actively addressing. What made it even more frustrating is that residents are not allowed to arrange their own extermination services. We actually had a fairly good experience living at this apartment - but be warned that the lease you sign says you have to leave the apartment “move in ready” when you leave. If you even leave anything less than PERFECTLY clean they will charge you huge cleaning fees. I didn’t read the lease close enough and misunderstood their cleaning expectations - so I was humbled by the photos they showed me of little crumbs and such that I left behind without realizing. Don’t live here if you don’t want to deal with bugs then get blamed for them even thought reviews go 7 years prior if you get anything behind on rent they will blame every little problem with the complex on you tried to say the roaches came from me but this is a trap I planted in the hallway by my neighbors door
I seriously don’t understand all of the negative reviews, in particular regarding the management and maintenance. The staff has never been anything but friendly and maintenance, the few times I needed them, responded on the phone immediately, and were on the job within 30 minutes, even when I called late at night and once early in the morning on a weekend. Macomb, IL is a small, state university town deep in rural America (so don't expect Manhattan or Beverly Hills living), and I assume these apartments serve mostly students... read more
