The Publick House is great A great place to visit! The food is very good but since it is an historic site, it's worth going for the atmosphere alone. The staff is very friendly and the service is very good.

Atmosphere + This is an historic building and there is alot of atmosphere. Recently renovated go for pizza, gelatto and other tasty dishes. Nice place to stop and have a deink (very expensive martinis) or a chowder.

Horrible. Service bad..food expensive and horrible. Can’t even go into detail…so many things wrong and so upset we left as quickly as we could. Complained and got the heck out of there. We don’t mind spending 45 dollars for a lone filet on a plate with nothing other than parsley…IF ITS GOOD! Which this was not at all. Will never go back. The “Chef”…and I use the term loosely…doesn’t have a clue how to cook a steak, or lobster…lobster like rubber and a funny color. And don’t know why, after obviously spending so much to re... read more

My wife and I had lunch once again at The Publick House in Chester--and once again we were very satisfied. The dining area (if you choose to eat indoors) is clean and appealing, the atmosphere inviting. Service (by Grant) was attentive. Mgr. Freddi came over to check on our level of satisfaction; he's very personable, very caring about his customers. Our food (shrimp and pasta, and burger and fries) was delicious, and quite reasonably priced. All in all, what we have come to expect from this restaurant: a very comfortable, s... read more

It was the worst dinner I had for the price it was outrageous!! I was expecting a wonderful meal instead: ordered an appetizer - never received it but was asked if we would like it during our dinner. The dinner was ok but nothing to brag about, I could of stayed home and had a better dinner. Desert was dry and rubbery, after a few minutes you could not cut it with your utensil. I was very disappointed for what we paid and what we received. This is one restaurant we will not be going back to. For a party of 4 we paid close to... read more

We were seated at a table with pork chop bones under it and I asked the manager if they could remove them first. He said they were very busy that day, but did remove them after 10 minutes of us waiting around the table to sit down. Then the waitress brought us a basket of 3 rolls for a table of six. When my guests started to break the bread to share I again talked to the manager. He seemed annoyed and overwhelmed and said "don't tell me how to do my job." I was a regular here but won't be back. Too embarrassing to bring gues... read more

Not the same place - super now – The old Brick Tavern was bought by another company, gutted and renovated. It was reopened as The Publcik House in 2007 and is a completely different restaurant. The ambiance and the food is top notch. I understand that the family owns a few other restaurants and they know what they are doing. We love to go there every chance we get.

WHO GAVE THIS PLACE 4 STARS??? MORE LIKE 1 at best – Its funny I was looking up something totally different and then saw this restaurant had 4 stars??? I am thinking what did I MISS when I was there and then saw that the two reviews both gave it 2 stars or worse. I couldn't agree more. We tried this place lunch EWE, then we thought ok, this just opened... lets try dinner even worse... then someone asked if we ever tried the brick oven pizza... OK SO WE WENT BACK A THIRD TIME - AND BOY WE WEREN'T DISAPPOINTED IT STILL STUNK! ... read more
