I give the restaurant one star, and that’s because the place is clean and is located in a good area. Food: flavorless, menu is BASIC. I ordered Benedict’s eggs they were tasteless. Coffee: I ordered a hot latte, and it was Luke warm. Service: the waitress and hostess they have a passive/ aggressive attitude. For a restaurant that is located in one of the best hotels of the city they should have better food and service, just a thought.
EDIT: you can’t leave a bad review of the manager on their website because it goes straight to him, Chris. So I have to leave one here on Google, publicly. Before I start, the food and service was great. I feel bad for the employees… the manager Christopher is rude and unprofessional. I pride myself on being respectful to staff, but this man raised his voice at us and immediately tried to throw his server under the bus for his mistake. You should definitely include Public in your rotation of high quality Providence restaurants. Located in the historic Renaissance hotel directly across from the statehouse, and next to the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, you don’t need to stay at the hotel to experience well done classic dishes and specials.i enjoy hotel restaurants since they tend to offer variations on mainstay dishes and bespoke cocktails and good wine lists. Nice looking place. Not all staff are friendly. Bartender was friendly and inviting, greeter was sassy and kind of rude. Not inviting, welcoming or friendly. Won't come back, even less recommend it. Thanks!
