Do NOT use Pruitt Health Hospice, unless you enjoy unreturned phone calls, never knowing if a CNA is going to show up, or not having a single nurse visit, or call, until the last day of your assigned nurse’s vacation. Our experience with Pruitt hospice was brief, but it was very evident they took on my Dad’s care without adequate staffing. They were very responsive very quickly when our family care provider made the referral, which was on Tuesday afternoon.. The dispatcher on day one said the nurse was late because she had a flat tire on 85. The nurse came and said she was tied up in a meeting. My father was under Pruitt Hospice care for over two months. While things appeared good at first, our overall experience was deeply disappointing due to a lack of compassion and respect for patient autonomy. My father was repeatedly labeled as “grumpy,” “angry,” or “defiant” simply because he was hesitant to take medications early on, when he was not in pain and did not feel they were necessary.
