We had this awkward dead space off the back of our house that was basically useless. Too small for a real room, too big to just ignore. SpaceMax came out and proposed turning it into a proper addition with actual walls and insulation. The whole layout made sense right away. Now it functions as a small office area that connects to the kitchen, and it gets used every single day. The construction wrapped up on schedule and the finished space fits the rest of the house perfectly.
the addition they built off our kitchen is basically where we eat every meal now. its got these big windows on two sides and the ceiling is higher than the rest of the house which makes it feel way bigger than it actually is. took maybe 6 weeks from demo to done which i thought was reasonable for the size of it. the flooring matches the original hardwood pretty close too, had to really look to spot the transition
Adding a new room to our home felt like a huge step. We debated moving instead. After completing the home addition in February we're glad we stayed. The extra square footage completely changed how we use the house. It feels intentional, not patched on. The flow between the original structure and the addition is natural. It didn't just add space. It made the house make sense again.
