I arrived by ambulance about midnight October 17th with a shattered tibia plateau fracture. I was taken to a room on the 4th floor and by Saturday morning Dr Michael W put the hardware in my leg to stabilize it and said that in 5 to 7 days they could finish plating the broken bone after the swelling went down. I went to Saint Pat’s ER because I was experiencing intense, highly uncomfortable nerve pain that felt like chronic sciatica. I waited THREE HOURS to be seen by Dr. Emilie Fowlkes, who was clearly weirded out and irritated by me being there and said this is something you go to a primary care doctor or urgent care for. I’m young and wasn’t aware of urgent care or I would’ve went there instead because I needed to be seen immediately. The PA, Aubrey, was extremely nice, helpful, and explained all of the surgical work in a way my husband and I understood exactly 💯 what happened and what to expect during recovery! I was amazed by her positive attitude and her extremely pleasant personality! Thank you Aubrey for being part of helping my husband during this time! I was feeling very ill this morning...chest and cough feverish so I googled this hospital and let me say I am glad I did, they were able to accommodate my Bobtail truck in the parking lot across the street and promptly got me in to see a doctor that was VERY thoughtful and thorough.
Excellent patient care.
