I went here after a negative experience with a rude, condescending student doctor over at Monument Square in New Brunswick, expecting the experience to be different. I was wrong. The doctor here doesn't listen to my concerns regarding discrepancies with my lab results. He wrote me off as not taking care of myself even though I have and is refusing to clear me for gender affirming surgery. I had been looking for a quality healthcare provide for nearly 3 years since arriving in New Jersey. The first medical practice I visited was incredibly homophobic. I stayed simply because of their proximity to me: only going when I had to. I have never felt so welcomed and understood. I have been looking for healthcare like this for several years and I am so glad I found the PROUD Center, I wish I knew about them sooner! My experiences with Dr. Kostek and his team have been fantastic. If you're looking for caring, LGBTQ friendly, knowledgeable healthcare staff, this is the place to be!
