I attempted to get a pre approval for a mortgage and have been waiting 4 weeks (and counting) for an answer. I found a house, contacted a realtor, and was directed to use Prosperity mortgage to get a pre approval letter, I was told we "could not move forward with any offer" until I got the letter. I assumed when I put all of the paper work together that the process would go smoothly and quickly. Is 4 weeks the norm? The house I was interested in was sold this past week so I guess I have plenty of time to wait now.
