I was put in this place as a newly twelve year old fresh out of the hospital.Two years later I am left with trauma from this place. I still have nightmares about returning and the force of being put into an uncomfortable place against your will alone. I was introduced to Prosperity Norfolk as an adolescent and later returned as an adult, it being my own choice. I would recommend Prosperity a million times over. They are so incredibly accommodating and truly provide such a safe place. All of the staff genuinely cares about you and your treatment even if they are not on your treatment team. This program did more damage than good for someone with overeating disorder. If you are on the Spectrum may not be the place for you. We’re trying now to resolve insurance problems, phone number on website gives busy signal.
As a registered dietitian in private practice who has seen clients who have stepped down from Prosperity’s PHP and IOP programs, I have been impressed with the growth and change these clients report after spending time in the care of the Prosperity team.
