Read all the reviews Jimenez is a dishonest person he is a scam artis took my boat to them for a 1,400 bottom job special which turned in to 18,000 dollar without my approval or consent. They are holding my boat I don't have the money to get it back. Jimenez just laughs and says I do this all the time I'll just sell it and make my money. How do they allow a company like this to be open.

Thinking about doing business with Progressive Marine in St Petersburg? Read this first so you can see how a questionable boatyard transformed a $2,100 estimate into $5,434.18 for a bottom job and a new cutless bearing on a 32-foot sailboat. Even more outrageous, the boatyard did it with a last-minute surprise. It wouldn't update its written estimates, despite my repeated requests via email, and hit me with thousands of dollars in inflated labor charges at the last minute. Want your boat? Pay the bill. Here's the story: I de... read more

DO NOT USE PROGRESSIVE MARINE ST PETERSBURG COST THREE TIMES OVER ESTIMATE . After receiving 2 estimates for approximately the same cost from two marine services, I brought my 42 Endeavour into PROGRESSIVE MARINE SERVICES for a repower project (remove old and put in new marine engine). Labor cost was estimated by both marine services at $4,900 (50 man hours). In the end the total labor cost to completed was $15,000 (150 man hours) $10,000 OVER ESTIMATE! On August 16th the boat arrived under power at Progressive. Work began i... read more

Read the other google reviews and judge for yourself !!!! We wish we had done this before taking our Lagoon 400 catamaran here (24ft beam). The next time we will take our boat across Tampa bay to RiverHawk Marine in Tampa. It’s just 8 miles NE of St. Pete located at 5251 West Tyson Ave., Tampa, FL 33611 and their phone # is 813-831-8000 or website http://www.rhmtampa.com . As I have discovered Progressive Marine is not the only game in town capable of hauling wide beam large catamarans or other large boats. When doing the re... read more

I own a 50' Cruisers Yacht, and I have been coming to Progressive for years. Time after time, they produce quality work, whether its bottom painting, fiberglass, mechanic work, etc. Very fair pricing. Do yourself a favor, and check them out for your next haul.

I just purchased my retirement boat, a 45' Defever. I had it hauled at Progressive for the survey. I was impressed with the upfront pricing and quick service on work I decided to have done there. The bottom paint was done in about a week. I had some thru hulls replaced. Reasonable prices.

Progressive did not fix my engine overheating problem that I brought it in for, but charged me for 100 hour maintenance and some parts. Dan TWICE refused to take my boat out for a test run to see if they resolved the original overheating issue (which they didn't). Jack's Interbay fixed the problem AND found that Progressive Marine put in the WRONG "grade" spark plugs for the boat even though the engine had a label right in it with the correct grade. I do NOT recommend Progressive Marine for any engine work.

I took my boat in for some fiberglass repair. I had some gel coat gouges that I finally was getting around to fixing. I figured while it was on the dry, I would have my Mercruiser engines serviced too. When I picked SeaNile, she was perfect. You couldn't even tell there were scratches on the boat before. And the engines, WHOA. It is crazy what just a simple oil change can do for you speed. (Hope it doesn't get me in trouble!) I will be back to Progressive for any and all of my boat repairs.

Business response:

Thank you for the review, Mr. C. I know how happy you were when you left. We are grateful that we were able to work on your vessel. Happy boating and be safe! -Progressive Marine

Finally, a decent boat yard! – I have been trying to find a decent boat yard in the area. I had tried several and was searching for a good deal. I opted for their bottom job special. About $30/ft and Pettit paint. I'm not sure about the other work, but if the bottom job price is any indication of the other costs it is definitely worth it.

Business response:

That bottom job special is the REAL DEAL! Thank you for your review. We appreciate your business, and we look forward to seeing you in a couple months for your haulout. Safe sailing! -Progressive Marine
