I’m aware that hospitals get bad reviews and people often don’t take the time to praise! As a nurse myself I avoid going to the ED at all cost, however I sliced my thumb badly and had no choice. When we arrived, they were busy (I expected that, it’s been crazy in healthcare lately), the staff was working hard and swiftly, while trying to be honest with those waiting about wait times. Horrible care in the Emergency dept for my son Chris. First time out of hospital bed from being in so much pain from accident to get wound cac removed and surgery areas cleaned. Nobody cared and left him hours in wheel chain in pain. Just terrible.

I’ve been here 4 hours with my 90 year old sister and they have her in the waiting room in severe pain from a fall. I complained twice. Was told they were full up. I finally got a blanket for her and told them her pain was so severe she couldn’t stand it. They brought her 2 Tylenol! Still waiting. Do not come to this ER!

During my visit to Progress West, Nurse Marinette (I can’t remember the correct spelling, but she’s not easy to miss) referred to me as “nuts” after learning I had been transferred from a psychiatric facility. That language was crude, stigmatizing, and unacceptable from a licensed medical professional. In addition, I observed dismissive behavior toward other patients during my time there. I came to the hospital today to get some routine test done. The registration person Theresa found that Unfortunately, the doctor’s orders did not come through. To make a long story short, Theresa was absolutely amazing so kind and helped to do whatever she could to make sure that we got what we needed so I could get my test done. When I tell you she went above and beyond. I can’t even tell you how much I appreciated everything that she did. This level of customer care is what all hospital should strive for.
