I have seen two different drs here. They are both very smart and professional. Pioneers in their field.
I can’t say enough about Dr Stephanie Collings and the way in which she practices psychiatry. I was beyond broken due to severe pain from a work injury when I walked into her office, and Dr Collings was so calming and kind to me. I was barely able to form full sentences because I was so very deep into my depression. Dr Collings took her time and truly listened to my every word and created a plan to help me move forward. Ive been going there for over a year. My first Dr Mr. Henderson was great!!! He listened to my issues and continued my medication Ive been on for over 25 years. Now he has graduated and this new doctor is only concerned about how we need to try different meds (Guina Pig). I was threatened to have my meds stopped if I don't consent to an ECT, This is where they sedate you and put your brain into a seasure to erase your memory!
My experience with them was traumatizing. I still have flashbacks and nightmares months after receiving treatment from them. Each visit was the most stressful part of my month. When I saw other doctors about something completely non related to mental health, they commented on it and it sounded like they had read the reports without my consent. If you would like to be treated like a criminal and a Guinea pig because you are mentally ill, please, by all means, come here. If you hold a belief that childhood trauma impacts your mental health and experiences today, this very well might be invalidated. They seem to think the chemicals in the brain cause the all of the issues and that the only way to treat them is with medicine. I have had students practicing on me.
