My 89 year old mother recently had her hair done at Prism as an elderly person her hair is quite thin and she wears it around chin length. So not a big job . She was charged an OBSCENE amount of money ! The syllist spent 1 hour and 45 min on her hair and she was charged $320 !!! That’s more than $160 per hour! How is that ok? Nurses make from $35 to $50 per hour and they are saving lives! Charging anyone that kind of money to have their hair done is disgusting but a senior living on a pension is unforgivable. I visited this salon for an updo for a wedding, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. I showed the owner a reference photo of the style I was hoping to achieve and clearly explained that my hair does not hold curls without product. Despite this, she proceeded to curl my hair without applying any product, which resulted in the style falling apart quickly. I have been going to this hair salon since 15 years of age, biking here from my parents house. The previous owners had one of my haircuts on the front page of the website when I finally allowed them to cut off my teenage Justin Bieber flow. I am now 27, have moved several times, saw ownership change to Monika years ago now, and still love and am loyal to Prism Hair here on Austin.
