The rehab portion is great - carrying people who want to help. The general care of the patients is horrible. When the patient cannot get up on their own, the aide/nurse {anybody} response time could be up to 30 minutes (they aren't even aware if the patient is in acute distress yet and will take their time coming). They just leave the patient's meals in front of them, not even checking if they can open them or cut their food etc. They don't follow directions on critical medication (ie taking on an empty stomach - even after ... read more

My Mother has been in this facility for more than 3 weeks and has finally been discharged yeserday. Rehab therapists were very good. The nurses can't be bothered at all; most of them have attitudes. Kitchen Management and servers are the most incompetant people I had to associate with. All meals were wrong and they couldn't care less what patients ate. Please do not put your loved one in that facility because you will transfer them to another one by the next day. I would rate Merwick less that 1 star if it was available.

I have been a patient back in February with a broken ankle. I for one can honestly say without a doubt that your physical & occupational rehab have done an excellent job and deserve a raise, they work hard, and above the call of duty. The kindess they have shown to me I will never forget. Thank you for reading my message, it is well worth it.

Place is not clean. Food is unbalanced. Patient needs to wait for so long for an aide or a nurse. Some aides should not be doing that kind of service, because they do not have a the ability / heart in. I have seen them pull, push and stepped on patient's foot. Especially the long term care unit need to get their act to gather. Some of these patients are in need of help form an aide most of time. Management must screen who there are hiring.

the stay was for 20 days and the sheets were never change, also never a shower was given food given was chopped up but was never ordered by her doctor. night time no covers never check up on. punishment was delt out by making the patient sit out in front of the nursed station. rude care by nurses and staff----just a cheap job

This is not the same Merwick that was owned by Princeton hospital. This is completely new owners . Do not confuse the two. Stay away from the new ones!!

Stay away!! They take about 45 minutes for call bells. Tested this 3 times. They have some really lazy aides that are also uncaring and incompetent.,. Not enough supplies. Food is terrible. Run from this place as fast as possible. They also never follow though with anything. They tell you they will do something and it never gets done. Take this place off of your list when comparing different places. Administration also lies as does most of the different heads of departments.

Horrible! Can't contact a patient after MULTIPLE MULTIPLE tries! Ridiculous!! I can't believe how horrible the communication is at this place. DO NOT allow your loved one to be admitted here.

My husband is currently a resident at Merwick and what I have observed are the following: Cons Too many patients for "ONE" aide Call bells not answered promptly - sometimes patients have gone on themselves Nurses seem to be unaware of their patients conditions. They are there to dispense medicine but not able to give quality care. Nurses don't keep their word to speak to patients doctors about their patients needs. Therefore nothing gets done and patient conditions deteriorates. You can only get things done through the Head ... read more
