I wish there were some way to know I'm out-of-network BEFORE I TAKE TIME OFF WORK and drive across town for an appointment. Maybe if there were some sort of interconnected system of communication devices capable of contacting one another prior to an appointment for the purpose of collecting insurance information. Alas, those don't exist. I've been told to go places by my insurance because they say it's in-network, and that turns out not to be true.
