The Royal is a nice apartment community overall, and the maintenance team does their best to keep the property clean. However, the condition of the carpet throughout the building is a major concern. The carpets on the floors are severely stained and have a noticeable odor. While the maintenance team regularly vacuums, I believe the carpets are beyond what routine vacuuming/spot treatment can address and need to be professionally deep-cleaned or replaced. My experience with this apartment complex was extremely frustrating, especially during the move-out process. To start, the fire alarm in the building next to ours would repeatedly go off almost every week. The elevators were also under maintenance constantly, and there was a sewage smell that never went away during my last three months there. But the move-out process was the final straw. We absolutely love living here. From the moment we first walked into the building, it just felt different. It’s incredibly beautiful, but what really makes it special are the people. The staff and management are phenomenal. They are warm, thoughtful, attentive, and they genuinely care about the residents. I lived there for 5 years. Place is being run into the ground by the new management company. Bottom line is that the tenants are simply a tool for the company's bottom line. They do not care how long you have lived there and whether or not you were a great tenant. They will not work with you on your lease renewal and should you decide to move out, you have no power to negotiate whatever fees they want to impose even if the issues were not your responsibility.
