Well, I for one, still believe Charleston, has all its charm and character, even though a few buildings have become boxes. And I think the downtown should still keep, for the most part, the look of the original buildings, and not get too much out of hand. But above all, I believe the people are still the most kind, caring and friendly individuals anywhere we have lived. And i am from Mich and winter in downtown Charleston until April. There is no better place I would ever want to be.

Charleston is becoming a place of boring, bland boxes. It is losing it's charm and character. Sadly, after living my whole life here (50 years) it may be time to leave this place behind. The city is losing everything that makes it special. It is becoming Atlanta, Chicago....any town USA. So sad. Not much unique here anymore and no reason to stay. :(
