I second Kevin Eberle's motion... "They charge you $50 dues to be a member AND another $50 to attend their membership meeting. That's insane".

The Carolopolis celebration is our gala event, and serves as a fundraiser for our work. The Annual Meeting and reception and many other member events continue to be free to all members. We hope you might reconsider in support our mission. We'd love to see you there.

Hey Kevin, hope all is well. The Carolopolis awards have always been a part of our annual Membership meeting, but in early 2016 we decided to separate the two. Our annual meeting was held this past Fall and going forward, the Carolopolis Awards ceremony and celebration will now serve as a fundraiser for our work. The Annual Meeting and reception and many other member events continue to be free to all members. We hope you might reconsider as we'd love to see you there.
Charleston is my favorite city in the world and thanks to the hard work of all those at the Preservation Society the unique beauty of is still and will continue to be a point of pride for all those who call her home!
