Two days before Christmas, my wife and I closed on our first home. We did our final walkthrough the day before closing and our realtor went to hand us our keys. Brenda, the seller’s realtor, was watching us like a hawk and immediately stopped him and said “no, you can’t give them their keys”. Our realtor was caught off guard and said he normally gives over keys during final walkthrough, but she said we needed to attend our closing meeting first, then she would drive over the keys to us when we get back to our home.
