We interviewed several companies and Shawn from Precision Decks was easy going and had that small town kind of feel. We told him what we envisioned and he did a little research and found a LOCAL product, made here in Grand Rapids, that we approved. Our horizontal wire deck barrier allows safety and a clear view. The work was done quickly and the crew cleaned up any mess made. Shawn is a good guy! Definitely recommend him.

Incredibly pleased with our new deck! Kazi on Shawn’s team is so very detail oriented and it shows! We did have a few bumps along the way with the deck coming in lower (elevation-wise) than initially planned, resulting in a few $k extra expense for a retaining wall. Wish we could have known this upfront by using a laser tool to check the assumptions we all had made about where the deck would land in the yard, but all-in-all it’s turned out great and we wouldn’t change it. I strongly recommend Shawn and Precision Decks and Patios for significant deck repairs. We have a 20 year old second floor deck that needed replacement of all of the supporting posts as well as replacement of a number of deck boards. Shawn is a straightforward guy and a great communicator. He provided a timely inspection and plan and budget for the project. He committed to a timeline and kept to that and the budget. I have nothing but great things to say! Our old deck was rotted and sinking into the ground, we finally had to get rid of it. Shawn came out and gave us a quote, we went over a few ideas and looked at samples. Communication was great. They were also able to start our deck earlier than expected. The guys that did the deck were here every day. There were no issues they were even done about a day early and came back to power wash it for us after! Much more reasonably priced than some other companies. We love our deck!

After choosing winter for our deck project, we couldn't be happier with the final results. Our neighbors across the way had Shawn build their patio years ago and he came highly recommended.
