I visited Dr. Kumar seeking help for a colon stricture. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing as he seemed solely focused on surgical options without considering my concerns or exploring alternative treatments. At 30, I was hesitant about major surgery, and my attempts to discuss dilation options were dismissed, making me feel unheard and limited in choices. It would have been appreciated if he had been more open to discussing various approaches to address my condition. He came off as very dismissive, rude, and that... read more

He is not at all friendly , rude and inconsiderate. As far as my THD surgery he did nothing to help my problems and I feel he made them worse. When he came to see me after surgery in recovery room he acted like he couldn’t be bothered to tell me how things went.

I saw him to get a second opinion. As a new patient you would think he would be even a little friendly. The receptionist was rude when I first got there. He comes across as rude, prideful, no compassion and zero personality. I definitely will not be seeing him again. I will say that his nurse was lovely, friendly and kind. I should have read the reviews further before seeing him.

In my experience, Kumar was a mediocre doctor and a worse person; he clearly puts his pride and profit far above the patient's needs. After dealing with his mindless mismanagement of a complex fistula and a LIFT procedure which resulted in 7 hours of profuse bleeding in ER, I simply requested that he help to do routine things from then on: seton reinforcement, MRI scans, etc. However, since I refused to try any more of his high-risk and low-success methods, he told me to go elsewhere; he even told me that he'd been "patient ... read more

I met Dr. Kumar 5 years ago when my Daughter was in very poor medical condition. He preformed surgeries on her , prescribed medications, and took the time to explain every thing in great detail. I credit him with saving her life !! Today I returned to him by means of my Husband 's medical problem, only to find the same comfort in dealing with Dr. Kumar as he explained the situation and remedy in terms we could comprehend. He offered a solution and recommended follow up medical appointments to ensure my husbands future health... read more

His capacity for judging individual cases is questionable. I HAD TO ask about having multiple setons placed after experiencing numerous new abscesses while under his care for over a year. Whether this was a matter of mercenary motives or mere negligence, it made a complicated situation even more so. As for his bedside manner, it ranges from simply professional, at best, to thoughtlessly abrupt at worst. He is, overall, just another average reflection of the current limits of colorectal surgery.

Doctor Kumar does not know how to communicate with his patients. I had 2 surgeries with him and was never given any discharge instructions. In fact the last surgery, he did not even come out to speak with my husband. Every follow up I had with him, I felt like he cared less and less. Do yourself a favor and find another colon surgeon, one that will take time to talk and explain things to you.

Dr. Kumar did surgery on my wife. She had complications after a week and called his office. He would not get on the phone. His nurse would only get on the phone or do the follow ups. Later after a trip to the emergency room that weekend he told the ER doctor he would see my wife the next business day. He lied. My wife called and his nurse said he was not available and she would do the follow up. Do not go to this man. If you have complications he will never see you again.
