I'm going to keep this very short as I have work soon, but my child has expressed neglect from Prairie care staff regarding her self-harm tendencies and relapsing. They didn't take they're word into account because they would not express the hardships they'd be going through outside of Prairie care mentally. making the staff pay less attention to her and her needs. My child participated in the PHP program and social worker warned they are very strict when it comes to rule breaking. I think our child improved a little after four weeks but he and other patients shared personal info (which they’re not supposed to do and I get it) and even more rules were broken and my child was discharged shortly before his session was to end. Their nursing staff is a joke. Why have a phone if not to idk answer it? Can never get ahold of anybody no matter what time of what day, and when you do finally get contacted back, staff has zero issue not hiding the fact that they’re annoyed about having to do their jobs. Forcing your patients to go through another round of mental gymnastics just to get access to the medications YOUR DOCTORS are providing is such bizarre behavior. Be embarrassed.
All of the staff are Amazing. They're SO knowledgeable about mental health. They educate on how to help people to navigate through their issues and life challenges and to learn how to help themselves through the Wonderful skills they teach. I learned so much and my mental health improved greatly. It's Definitely a non judgmental environment. The staff and other clients were SO supportive, compassionate and nurturing. Can't get ahold of anyone. Nurse line for urgent concerns only rings half a ring each time no matter the time of day, always have to leave a message and wait for a response. As someone who is trying to raise an autistic son and work a job I cannot answer the phone for callbacks at random times during my workday or lose my job. Need a med refill, leave a voicemail, need forms for medication at school, leave a voicemail. The system to call and contact staff is horrible and communication is a 1/10
