I’ve unfortunately been to 9 inpatient treatments in Iowa and Hazelden in Minnesota. Powell is easily the best one in Iowa and their programming and staff are right on par with Hazelden. Which is one of the best (maybe the best) treatment in the USA. I highly recommend Powell if you or a loved one is serious about getting sober. They know what it takes to get sober and more importantly what to do to stay sober! 5 ⭐️
I had a horrible experience at Powell. 20 minutes into my appointment I was told they couldn't help me because of a mediation I take and would not discontinue, which is prescribed by my doctor. They walked me out and still charged me $200 without any help. I called the Program Director after receiving my bill and he never returned my call. The billing department manager was so rude and insisted I pay for a service I did not receive. I’d been at Powell for a month and a half, they wanted to send me to a different place in another state and when they place never reached out to me after sending in the paperwork for it. They kicked me out because they didn’t believe that I never heard from them
