Dr Pourbabak is exactly the kind of doctor that inspires me to become an endocrinologist! If I were an endo, it would save people from having to see him! I have been to several appointments with him where he blatantly ignored all of my symptoms, and then proceeded to suggest a course of action I had asked for in a previous appointment which he had ignored before. He has to be the most incompetent doctor I have ever encountered. I finally found a different endocrinologist and they asked me why I thought I had a thyroid autoimmune disease when my labs from Dr. Pourbabak's office were negative. Turns out he didn't read my labs correctly and told me I had a thyroid disease that I don't actually have. I decided to stop seeing him after he read my hormone test results incorrectly and when I corrected him, he argued with me. Dr. Sam Pourbabak is an amazing endocrinologist. He is a rare find. He orders the required tests and understands the results pretty well and takes the next actions based on the test results' trends. I believe he stays away from prescribing unnecessary medicines which might have potential side effects or interfere with the patient's situation and he orders the ones which are absolutely needed.
