I have been a patient of Dr. Cavanaugh for the past six years or so. He is, unequivocally, the finest dentist I have had the extreme good fortune to care for me in my life. His professional skills are without equal and are matched by his willingness to take whatever time is necessary to explain procedures and to answer all questions. His kind, caring concern for his patients extends to his entire staff. This is a first-rate dental care team and I most highly recommend Portsmouth Family Dental to any prospective patient.
Dr. Cavanaugh is very professional and I feel very calm when I see him. The dentist is not my favorite place but this practice has truly helped put my anxiety to rest. The dental assistants/ hygienists are fabulous as well. They actually educate if needed! My two kids ages 8 and 5 have had great visits every time!

Portsmouth Family Dental took great care to ensure I was comfortable. Not once did they scoff at my fear or concern over various things. I had not been to a dentist in quite a long time due to those fears. But, Portsmouth Family Dental took that in stride and made sure that all my concerns were heard and taken into account when providing dental services. They are very friendly, professional and very skilled at what they do.
