Called to see how busy they were. The girl on the phone asked how many we told her 2. She said they had tables. We even went to give her our name being we had a movie to make and we were limited to time and she said no need. We were driving down Nelson ave as we called. Pulled up front and valet the car. Walked in and was told they had no tables that they just gave the last 2 away. So in the 3 mins it took to walk in from when we called they gave away 2 tables. Totally done with the place. Portobello cafe is a very nice restaurant to dine at. The food was delicious and the drinks are absolutely tasty! The service was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.
Ordered a 2 for 1 and ordered from the regular menu also. When the bill came was told to pay only cash.I realize if you get 2 for 1 it's cash only (???) I did order from the menu also and was told no credit card?? PLUS Was sitting so close to the other table could not even move.... Will never go back...
yesterday I ordered lunch and my coworker from here. the split pea soup was horrible didn't taste anything like split pea the soup was made so different. we always ordered the split pea soup because it was always great that was our favorite menu also ordered the A sandwich and was also horrible the chicken was like chicken select from the supermarket chicken that is premade already. The food was amazing and delicious. Very different then what Im usually use to. The waitress was incredible. Very attentive, friendly, bubbly, and offered great suggestions.
