Better off cooking at home. Everything is an up charge. Fries tasted like freezer burn! Beef sandwich had no flavor and bread was so soggy. Lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN! People were nice though and the place was decorated nicely.

*Finally* we get Portillos in Houston!! I'm from Chicagoland and have had many an Italian Beef and Chicago Dog back home. These here in Portillos are exactly the same. Been there maybe 8 times since they opened, the only comment I can think of is to change up the music a bit. I grew up in the 60's and I like 50-60's rock but i think I'd go crazy if I worked there and had to listen to it all day! But other than that small thing, Portillos is awesome.

I'm from Chicagoland, and this place is just just like home! Hot Dogs were perfect as was the Italian Beef. Fast and friendly too!!

I’m from Chicago and have Portillo’s every time I go back. I was so excited that they were opening locations in Houston and finally got to try it, but their Chicago style hot dog here is not the same as it is in Illinois. The hot dog in Illinois location has the sausage coming out the sides of the bun, and it tastes different here as well. It’s definitely not the same recipe/prep/whatever you want to call it, as the Illinois locations.
