awesome owner, fun classes, great product. i drive an hour and a half to go there.
I LOVE this place SO much! When I go there to buy fleece, to support the art of my granddaughter’s needle felting masterpieces, they are so helpful and welcoming. It is a totally yummy, sensory experience just to be there!
Best fiber shop. Best fiber. Best shop keeper. Casey is aces all around. Between classes, and community events, studio hours, the innovative and powerful collaboration with the women spinners in Tajikistan, and the creative partnering to support local artists, not to mention a shop full of the most beautiful fiber and tools you can imagine, Casey Ryder is a gift to makers, in Maine and beyond!
So today I stopped at Port Fiber for the first time and I have to say I was totally impressed! Casey(I’m not sure if this is how you spell your name) was inviting and very helpful. She answered all of my questions and made me feel so welcome! Casey told me she is celebrating four years in business! As a business owner myself I know that that is a huge accomplishment! Bravo Casey! Here’s to many many more years of success and growth! I highly highly highly recommend that all “fiber people” make it a point to visit this amazin... read more
Casey was so helpful! I tried a bunch of spinning wheels-- no time restraints & no pressure. I bought a beautiful wheel that I feel very comfortable with!
Found this place on a chance while visiting in the area. WOW what a blast. There were people with many skill levels helping and sharing their skill with others. Knitters, Felters and Weavers all sorts of fiber artists in three big rooms. I had never before seen a shop that carries so much in the way of Needle Felting tools. Started by a local young lady, this is a great place to shop and meet up with other fiber artists.
Casey was super helpful (and amazingly quick on email correspondence) I am so looking forward to my drum carder, that she helped me select, to come in the mail so I cannot get all my wool worked through and bring it up to totally geek out about it and move on to the next step...Learning to spin!!!
Great experience being in a room of creative women! So helpful there!
