I just completed the rigid heddle loom class at PortFiber. First, the class is enjoyable and I could easily go on and start my own rigid heddle project. Casey is relaxed and clear in her teaching. For those of us a little nervous about jumping in on something new, she makes it easy. I like her approach of teaching the basic start up information and helping us as we do this. Then, we go off and weave. Casey is available for questions and help. The last class covers taking the project off of the loom and finishing it. I really... read more

Portfiber is awesome! Casey carries some really awesome fiber, including Cashmere People Yarns - I'm wearing socks knit from it right now and it's the bees knees. Very fair prices, generous rental rates for equipment, and an awesome selection of classes!

I took a weaving class with Casey, and I had a lot of fun learning how to weave a scarf on a heddle loom. I also like the selection of spinning fiber there; there's a lot of locally sourced fibers in woolen preps, which I haven't seen in any other store I've been to. I've had to contact the store over email before, and I received a timely reply.

This is my favorite place to get fiber for spinning, and I’m lucky I live close enough to visit once in a while. Casey’s colors are the best and she blends the fibers so beautifully!

Cassie's is the best shop owner ever. She carries a wide variety of anything wooly, color palette's to drool over, and well, Cassie is a wool star!

The quality of the fiber and exceptional dye colors, and their tools are wonderful and varied. The line of Cashgora yarns are amazing with a rich story behind their source. The customer service is the best. Casey is easygoing and knowledgeable...and an enabler. 💜
