The tour was very informative and friendly. Porter Place is very clean and friendly. I will feel very comfortable allowing my mother to stay there.

Strengths include; very welcoming/warm front reception desk, a few of the staff that work one on one are very attentive to residents, Community Relations Director very professional/responsive. Weaknesses include; frequent exorbitant rate hikes which are way beyond cost of living rates, new director not very responsive and fails to follow up on communicated requests, as of late, more CNAs/patient care workers seem to spend lots of time together or on phones vs with patient care, overall cleanliness seems to be on a decline

I have had my husband at Porter Place for 7 years. The staff takes very good care of him especially Tamika. She is patient, kind and does a little bit extra to make both my husband and myself feel comfortable. The staff is very quick to respond to my concerns which is very important to me.

We initially liked this facility, but the quality of care declined dramatically and ultimately led to my father being hospitalized multiple times. During visits we repeatedly found him sitting in urine-soaked clothing and feces, and he often had bruises, cuts, and injuries that were never documented or reported by staff. Some wounds on his legs were not properly cleaned or treated, which led to an infection that required hospital care. Medication management was also very concerning. My loved one has been at Porter Place a few years. I feel very comfortable that she’s well cared for. I like the staff and am thankful for a good quality home for her since I can no longer do it myself. I do understand that private pay facilities come at a premium price. Peace of mind means a lot to me.
