I highly recommend this ! I rented a kayak here and had a great time! You get your boat of choice for the day so you can take your sweet time.The canal has very little current and you can just stay in it if you like but I chose to do a loop (canal and river). This would be an excellent activity to take kids on to see ducks,turtles and geese that you can get fairly close to, The river has some current so it’s very little work getting to the get out spot. I wanted to go for a leisurely paddle to clear my head. The weather was good. It was a bit of a workout for me. The people that provided me with the rental were nice an professional. The people in the general area seem to have never seen a single black female in a kayak. 🤷Lots of staring
Hours say they close at 4pm. We arrived at 1:55 pm and they said they close early today. No warning nothing posted. Very disappointing.
Rented a canoe a few times with the family here. Easy process and a beautiful place to be. Life jackets could have been a little bit better... but overall they served there purpose
$40 to rent a kayak with leaves in it and a paddle with the rubber worn off so that spray paint covers your hands. They don't seem to care. No discount when river access is prohibited due to water level, either.
