⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100,000/10 — My Port Douglas go-to, forever. Peninsula Boutique Hotel set the tone from the very moment we walked in. We were greeted with complimentary towels and juice on arrival, which was such a lovely touch, and the staff were genuinely some of the friendliest and most welcoming people we encountered on our whole trip. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent, but unfortunately my overall stay was very disappointing. I was first placed in Room 26, where I found underwear left in a drawer and a cockroach in another. The air conditioner then broke down, though I appreciated how quickly the staff moved me to Room 8. Room 8 had a strong mildew smell as soon as I walked in. The staff helped start the dehumidifier that was already in the room, which suggests they were aware of the issue. Great hotel with lovely large rooms. Ours had a balcony that we enjoyed. Hotel has full laundry facilities as well as a drying rack. Very welcome in the middle of a trip. Staff were all very kind. Breakfast was nice and could be enjoyed on the terrace.
