Book and paid for an executive suite months before arrival. When we arrived, I was told we had been upgraded at no extra charge. I said I did want another room, I specifically wanted the room I had booked and paid for. We went to look at the "upgraded" room to discover it was a standard room with a different view (not what we wanted). It seems the reason we couldn't have the room we had booked and paid for was because the air-conditioner wasn't serviceable or maybe not fixed on weekend charges. Positives: Location, pool, breakfast included, DIY laundry available and was nice and clean. Negatives: Rooms need a lot of work and are pretty dingy. Overall, if you know going in that the rooms are what they are, the positives outweigh the negatives.
The staff was excellent! The pool was wonderful! The breakfast was fantastic! However a soon as we entered the room we could immediately smell the mold and mildew. I could not stop my nose from running and my breathing did not improve until I was at the airport to my next destination. I would not stay here again. Sorry!
Great stay at the Peninsula Boutique Hotel. Our room was very spacious with lots of outdoor space, the pool was large and quirky (in a good way) and breakfast was excellent - made to order with very attentive staff. I appreciated the team allowing me to leave my car in the shaded carpark after checkout as we went out on a boat tour. Highly recommended.
The location is great and beach across the road is ideal. The room was not ready at 3 so waited. The room was very dated, untidy & the floor was terrible you could not walk without shoes, as it felt slimy. I dropped something under the bed, I don’t think it had been cleaned for a long time the dust buildup was terrible. There are no fly screens and we had so many mozzies, but fans hard to regulate.
