This place is incredible! Great food and amazing presentation! Went for brunch last week and was very impressed. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and of course their infamous fried-green tomatoes.
I spend quite a bit of time in Beachtown and love the Porch Cafe. The chef, manager, and staff are always accommodating and flexible, and of course, the food is excellent. The thing that really makes Porch Cafe stand out though is the atmosphere; it's a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location, and less pricey than you might think! My favorites are the jalapeno cheddar grits and the fried green tomatoes.
For almost a year I have been brunching solely at Porch Cafe on Sundays. I am a chef and have owned a successful restaurant in Coldspring, TX for 14 years. What I have learned is when you find a restaurant, which meets all of your dining needs...atmosphere, service, food, wine, cocktails, experience...why would you ever leave? Unless they are closing:)
We've eaten at Porch Cafe many times! My wife and I had our engagement dinner here, and we've come on the weekends just to have the delicious food from this 'hidden gem' of a restaurant on eastern Galveston Island. The service is excellent, the food is great (and most if not all is locally sourced) and the ocean view from the porch just can't be beat. Highly recommended!
