This a dirty business. I got a mole removed and the doctor told me I will pay $55 for the pathology test. I received a $359.00 bill from D-Path that is a division of Poplar Healthcare. I called the lab and they said they run more test because"I need it" but they never ask me. I have no insurance so $359 is a lot for me. If I was given the choice and the price I will take the decision of having them to process the tests or not but I will be aware and ready to make such a big payment. Be CAREFUL, they are sneaky and dirty.
I did not receive an invoice for services rendered before the deadline for payment through my insurance company. The deadline for payment was almost five months after the services rendered, giving GI Pathology/ Poplar Healthcare ample time to send me an invoice. I did not receive an invoice until eight months after the services, which was well past the deadline for payment.
