This place has declined over the past few months. No soda in fountain drinks, no ice. Restrooms are not kept clean. They had standing water in the dining area. It looked old. I suppose they're using it for something else, because the tables weren't cleaned. Very disappointed because I love their fried chicken. Now there have been reports that the chicken is not being cooked thoroughly. We were going to dine in. But in seeing how bad the dining area was, we decided to take it to go.
After waiting 15 minutes. They are coming and saying they don’t have spicy chicken… I wonder what were they doing for 15 minutes….
I attached photos because I could hardly believe it myself. The chicken was so dried out and over-fried that it looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The meat was dark, tough, and stringy instead of juicy. Every bite was hard to chew, and it actually hurt my mouth. This is the first time I’ve ever had Popeyes that was genuinely inedible. Extremely disappointing and a complete waste of money. I expect much better quality control from Popeyes.
