Polina Kuprien is unprofessional. please avoid going to her if you can. She will not make time for her patients and any referrals that are sent to her she will put them on the back burner and will not get to them until weeks or months later. Never met an MD that was so unprofessional and who does not care for her patients.
I saw Dr. Kuprien for the first time today as a new patient and it went well! She's very professional, no-nonsense, and no pressure. She also listens well - just as an example, I had told my previous doctor about some pretty awful acute symptoms I'd experienced, but I felt disregarded by her. When I saw Dr. Kuprien today, however, I mentioned those same symptoms to her and she gave me her opinion on what had happened, which I appreciated a lot. Dr. Kuprien has been a great PCP and internists for me for years. She always listens + intently works to help me out with anything I need. She's compassionate and follows up fast - there was once I ran out of a perscription and she promptly replied with her office to get me a refill to avoid any withdrawals. She also keeps up to date with new medication, providing an alternative medicine I hadn't heard of but has really help decreased my side effects. She is everything you need out of a primary care physician.
I had very high hopes with this physician and the facility where I've seen her: Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital. In my sincere opinion, this facility has declined. I was a happy patient for over 25 years. I've noticed that some outstanding physicians have left. I feel the same now. As for the office of Dr. Kuprien, to not respond to an urgent call for over 48 hours, is unacceptable. To be kind, I will refrain from further criticisms.
