They are currently remodeling the hotel. We were in the old section. They are converting to a self service hotel. The maid was the only person we saw and she was wonderful. She was very helpful getting us situated. The room was clean, but the furniture was old and worn out. We had a lot of trouble with the door lock, It kept unlocking and the the lock code is too simple. The bathroom was clean and spacious, but the towels were old and worn out. Toby, just bought this place two weeks before our arrival, the place was in the process of painting and and total make over. Did that decrease our visit? Not in any way. Staff were super helpful with luggage etc. The working idea is for a B & B experience with luxury rooms. You are next to Veterans Park and the river. Steps from down town restaurants and shopping. Very picturesque area!
Disappointed. No desk and zero help if you need anything. I specifically asked twice for two queens. We got 1 queen and a sleeper sofa that is absolutely disgusting, the sheets haven’t been washed in who knows how long and there was someone’s stinky old tee shirt folded up in it. No pillows for it! The toilet was plugged and almost overfilled and I had to take the cleaning brush from the front lobby bathroom to plunge it.
