As a Village at the Park resident I am very upset by today’s closure of the PV Fields, our neighborhood park. Every year since the park has been open my husband, grandchildren and I have walked to the park to view the fireworks. We have enjoyed meeting with other neighborhood families and friends for a safe way to enjoy professional fireworks. This has become a nice Community Tradition. I guess Park and Rec have made their choice to be Un-American and keep hundreds of people celebrating July 4th at the Village. Next Camarillo will ban Americans flags. What else?

Totally clueless when it comes to the residents at Village at the Park. By ironically closing the Park on July 4th, residents can not watch the fireworks over at ACHS. So much for family and community traditions and the pursuit of happiness. The two incumbents need to be voted out this November.

We have such a wonderful park system in our community!! My only complaints are that there are no tennis courts at Village at the Park; and also - and this is a big one - that some of the softball parents act as though they own Mission Oaks nightly, and that they do not drive safely. Two of our tennis kids almost got hit last week in the lot, and tonight I see one of the softball families has made their own reserved parking sign to be used in the PUBLIC parking lot at the park....and they are getting away with all of this.
