The room smelled like it had not been cleaned since the 1900's. If you have allergies, this is not the hotel for you. The amount of dust around the 20 year old carpeting border was thick and the peeling paint over your head in the shower left alot to be desired. Staff could not have been nicer however free cookies and cheese/crackers cannot make up for the condition of the rooms in this hotel including holes in the blankets. Friendly staff. Front desk was helpful in making recommendations for our trip. Location was great for walking to everything (Forsyth park, riverfront, shopping). Street parking available. Quaint rooms. Very historical.
I have seen many people complain about it being outdated with some chipping paint, but it is a 200+ year old hotel set to that asthetic. If you are wanting to enjoy historic savannah vibes, this is the place and you will love it. Live piano music with wine and cheese at 5pm. Cookies are great. This is a perfect location -walking distance from everywhere you want to go! The staff are the absolute best!!! Cozy rooms, good coffee, great cookies and exemplary service! Would definitely stay again!
