This gym has destroyed one of the central, consistent features of the gym franchise. The 30 minute workout area provides an organized way to begin a gym workout, with a pattern of equipment that insures all parts of your body receive a warm up. The staff stand around and talk or stare at you. The tanning bed areas are so disgusting. They don't even tan you. The staff act like they know which ones are the best but you need people in there that actually tan and know for themselves how they truly tan. Bc they don't know. The bulbs never get changed out. If they do it seems like they just replace one bulb as it blows with no telling how long the other bulbs have been in the same tanning bed. I pay for this membership and hundreds of others. Terrible management on a once nice gym. 6 months of construction ( still no black card amenities) to totally change the brand identity! Not a fan of the new planet Fitness

They refuse to allow any payment options other than providing your checking account information. I called and they still won’t budge. As a result, won’t get my membership. I screen where I provide my checking account info. Not allowing any other payment option but through a checking account seems sketchy to me.

I recently cancelled my Black Card membership at Planet Fitness Vernon, BC, after a series of frustrating and disrespectful interactions about the red light therapy machine. I chose the Black Card specifically so I could use the red light therapy and massage machines 2–3 times per week. Last week, a manager told me I was “not allowed” to use the red light machine twice because it could be harmful. Unfriendly, went in after playing tennis to compare it with the one in Madison. Hardly anyone in there. Told me I could not use it with classic membership. I understand that, but I was thirsty  and just wanted some water. She told me I could not have any and would not offer to get it for me. She said I could not walk passed the desk  for insurance reasons. I will stick with Madison where all the front desk people are friendly and make me feel welcomed..

Gave them my correct checking and routing numbers TWICE along with a second form of payment. Twice they were unable to run the payments trough my checking account for some unknown reason. Money was there and info was correct. They ran the charges without issue through my second form of payment provided but TWICE they charged me late fees and they refuse to refund them. I filed a complaint with the bbb after they refused to refund late fees even though the second form of payment went through without issue both times. This is ... read more
