Three years ago I received help in only two visits and now I’ve come back with a different problem to Great Lakes Orthopedics And Sports Medicine, PC in Saint John, IN. Earlier in the week my previous doctor dropped the ball with my care and I was able to get in Friday (cncld appt) with Dr. Pitchford. Dr. Pitchford is a very kind and knowledgeable doctor. The only reason for 4 stars is the wait time is quite extensive. You have to have some patience for the wait. But in my opinion, it was worth it.
The best Orthopedic surgeon in the area.
Waste of time and money offered no assistance with my issue had to go to another doctor for correct help
Waiting room has been packed each time I saw him with an average wait time close to 2 hours. First time I thought it was a fluke, but it has been like that with each visit. Obviously overbooking is the norm there. Post-operative instructions poor. Had problems over a weekend, called the answering service explaining the problem and thinking I would get a call back. The PA gave instructions to the answering service to give to me. I did not even have a chance to explain anything in detail.
Bedside manner extremely gentle. So glad he was the orthopedist on call in the emergency room . Broke arm and he explained everything he had to do. I never felt rushed asking questions in his office on follow up visits.
Had considered having knee replacement with different Doctor and then found Dr. Pitchford. I am TOTALLY satisfied with my new knee. He takes time to talk to you and has great way of explaining everything. Two months after replacement and therapy I am on my own. You need to go to this doctor. Professional.
