On Friday Oct 23rd Mark and Katie from Pirate Coast Paddle Company generously gave 3 hours of their time and all of their equipment free of charge to give 25 foster teens a chance to do something they normally would not have been able to experience. They were professional and fun and it was a treat watching the kids enjoy themselves. This is a fun and safe adventure for the whole family and I would encourage everyone to put down all of their "devices" and go down to Pirate Coast and paddleboard! The guys who work there are always friendly, unassuming and accommodating. The surroundings are perfect for beginners and warm water due to it being a small boat harbor/bay. Adjacent and surrounding is a GIGANTIC protected habitat that is home to hundreds upon hundreds of water fowl. It is yours to view and paddle near but not within. The setting is serene.
