Want to thank Gerald Guinto for helping us with the purchase of the 11 foot round above ground pool made the whole process very easy step-by-step process and the staff as well for their help. We had Pioneer Pools install a new liner in June. Unfortunately the installation was very shoddy. First, the strip moulding that covers the seam where the liner clips into the wall was not installed seamlessly as seen on the photos. Secondly, when Pioneer couldn't find a white strip to cover the trim around the stairs they realized the workers had reinstalled the old trim, even though we had paid for a new one and it was on the work order!!! They get more than one star for the friendly staff. They lose stars for over pricing on parts. $70 for a single chlorinator o ring? I did a temp fix until I can get an appropriately priced part. I know Hayward over charges but you don't need to do a 100% markup to get a 50% retail margin. I called around and other pool shops said they can't justify marking something like this up that much. I bought my chemicals from Canadian Tire out of spite today and will never buy a part from pioneer pools.
Just wrapping up the self installation of a great 13 x 20 foot above ground pool from Pioneer. Overall it was a great experience. I was missing one part on delivery but they were able to get it to me without much effort. Sales was easy and low pressure. The install could benefit from some more instructions especially regarding the liner and set up of the pump, filter etc. The pool manufacturer doesn’t make the liner and there for doesn’t include those instructions.
