Paul did a great job of pointing out the relatively obvious, and some of the easier things to miss. When he was giving me my walk through, he made mention of an "old, inactive" leak in the attic. Having never bought a house before, I put my faith in his judgment, and took his word over asking to see the attic with him. Fast forward 3 months, I'm ready to start moving things into the attic for storage, and there is actually a tarp under the "inactive leak" with a small puddle of 3-5" of water in it. Paul was super friendly. I trusted him on telling me what was wrong with my home. He pointed out some of the more "obvious" problems with the home I am in, (which got fixed). But his bad inspection skills cost me $20,000 dollars in repairs for my basement. Which he said, was "perfectly fine" and that I should, "run a dehumidifier" when I was considering buying the house. I would have rather payed $1,000 dollars for a better home inspector knowing that they did everything they could. Thanks for nothing.
