Dr Akhavan is very good and sees two members of my family. He definitely cares and finds way to provide treatment that will help with condition. He spends the right amount of time with his patients and helps them understand. As a specialist, he is very busy and sometimes has only a few appointments available and sometimes his work at the hospital takes longer than planned. This doesn't matter since he is a good doctor worth waiting for.
My husband has sleep apnea issues and his primary Doctor recommended him to see a pulmonologist.. I am the one in charge of searching for a good doctor (we have PPO) I choose Doctor Akhavan because he has good reviews. Well my husband was very disappointed with the Doctor. Doctor was very cold and he was not even looking at my husband when he was talking! Had to wait close to a month for the first available appointment, was called two weeks into waiting and was told they had to reschedule and was told I’d have to wait over another month to see a doctor. How long does someone need to wait to breathe? Ridiculous.
Desiree at the information desk in the lobby is extremely rude and unprofessional. I simply asked her where a specific doctor was and she rudely shook her head and said, "I dont know who that is." I then asked her where is room 208, she shook her scrunched up face and pointed up saying, "second floor." I will be filing a complaint. If someone is going to work at an information desk they should at least fake being helpful. It seems like rude behavior is a trend at this place.
