Avoid this place at all costs! The doctors might care about your pet, but management only care about your wallet. If going for an emergency, you are better off driving to another state instead of waiting for this place. If you are unfortunate enough to wait and get in, good luck. They performance procedures you do not authorize and bill you for the full amount of your estimate (regardless of what was done to your pet). Save your pet the stress and go somewhere else!

Took my kitty to the emergency room at night about a 1 1/2 hrs drive. Very rude and uncaring staff. Multiple staff members were making fun of the pets in their care and the owners. A staff member was heard saying they should have just lied to the owners. A dog that needed oxygen was refused treatment due to the owner's inability to pay right away. I truly hope they ended up giving the dog oxygen. A couple overheard these things as well and left with their dog disgusted. With all this I asked for my cat back however no brough... read more

Sadly, my one experience with one ER doctor was poor, and soured me on this vet hospital. My cat was denied the bloodwork and care that may have saved her life. She died 3 days later. My experience with everyone else at Pieper was good. My cat was seen by the Pieper ER on 7/9/23 and admitted for jaundice and weight loss. The next day she was given an ultrasound, bloodwork and 2 biopsies. The Internal Medicine doctor diagnosed cholangiohepatitis, pancreatitis and IBD. On 7/12/23 she was discharged with jaundice they ... read more

Unless you are employed by this place... Do not expect your pet to be treated with the same care. I called this place today due to my dog having a seizure for the first time. (He is 18 years old and blind otherwise in excellent health.) I was told to come right down and he would be triaged upon arrival due to the continued seizures. Never happened even with me requesting!! I get to Pieper, I check in and remind the woman about my dog's condition, I am told to sit down and wait for registration, after waiting over an ho... read more

Going to the emergency room at Pieper was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I took my dog there because my local vet thought he had blown a disc. My local vet called ahead and alerted them I was coming. I sat for 3 hours in the waiting room right in front of the staff while my dog writhed in pain and was yelping, crying and moaning in pain. I asked the staff for help and was told I would need to wait because other dogs were more critical and needed to be seen first. Eventually my dog went into shock in the wai... read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. One of most horrible experiences of my life. Took my dog there because my local vet thought he had blown a disk. Sat for 3 hours in waiting room while my dog writhed in pain and was moaning and crying. Asked staff for help and was told I would need to wait my turn cause other dogs were more critical. Eventually my dog went limp from hours of excruciating pain and never recovered.
