PGH and all staff, especially nurse Wilson, on psychiatric admissions and unit provided excellent care for me when admitted in July 2025.I will always be thankful.Though, I can't remember all staff names, your kind faces cross my mind quite often
They have been treating my mother so good that we are surprised the recovery she has experienced. She's not aggressive anymore. Even when we leave she seems to be okay staying there. As I read in another comment, the same happened to the family members of that other person. This indicates they treat the patients good. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone having these type of situations, disorders. We were even able to meet the doctor who was super kind and professional. As a state facility, the buildings and grounds are very basic, but kept very clean (at least the areas that visitors can see). My relative received excellent care. It looked like he had a sudden medically exacerbated dementia from an emergency situation at another hospital, but he suddenly showed significant recovery. At my first visit, he asked me if he could live at Piedmont permanently--which indicated to me that he felt safe and was being treated well, despite some challenging behaviors reported to me by the staff.
