I spent the past 20+ years living just outside of New Haven where I frequented Pepe's, Modern, Sally's, and Zuppardi's. After moving to the west coast and being disappointed with every pizza there, and even the Chicago deep dish, I had to try the taste of home this place claimed to have. Boy am I glad I did! The pizza was really salty. My teenagers even complained.
I’m visiting from NY and am a bit of a harsh critic when it comes to pizza. This place gets a hearty thumbs up as the pizza was excellent. The beer was very good as well and the place had a nice vibe. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
Top Heavy beer and pizza combo is outta this world. Had to get me a growler!
