Had the American breakfast - which was high quality food overall but the bacon and sausages were high quality British style rather than American style. Pancakes were fine. Good to have the bottomless filter coffee option, with the half and half add on. Service was great .
I’ve been wanting to try the Reuben sandwich at Pickle & Rye for some time now. I finally made it and, unfortunately, came away underwhelmed. For �17.50, I expect much better. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t good. The salt beef wasn’t flavoursome enough and the bread was too thick for me, which likely didn’t help with the amount of salt beef in the sandwich. Delicious sandwiches with generous portions. Lovely staff too!
Pancakes were probably the best I’ve had in London, but still just shy of being like for like to North American ones. Mostly just because the amount of maple syrup they give is so conservative, like other pancake restaurants in London. It’s great they had the blueberry stack option though, as that not only is of course reminiscent of pancakes back home, but helps with the lack of syrup that you would otherwise be able to have more of back home.
