I just want to know who thinks it's okay for a 4 year old to remove their own IV after having tubes placed and adenoids removed? My daughter was encouraged to remove her IV by the post op nurse. The nurse said it would be a distraction for my daughter because she was crying and trying to throw up and i said no firmly. Meanwhile my distraction was on its way with 2 other nurses bringing my crying 18 month old to me who just had tubes placed. Very professional, very efficient, and did a completely better job than any place I’ve been. They knew what they were doing and did a fantastic job. I wasn’t just a piece of meat. They were rolling in and out.

Well, I loved going to this place to have surgery. The nurse that started my IV broke the world record on getting my IV done. Seariously it was the fastest and that is after having over 120 outpatient surgery's that I can count. But another nurse on my second time there, verifying my info in pre-op, was yelling out my info. As an example: "SO IT SAYS HERE YOU POOP IN YOUR SLEEP!". It took everything I had not to walk out.
